Protest: Don’t Dance with Israeli Apartheid – Boycott Batsheva
The Batsheva dance group receives funding from the Israeli government and is part of the Brand Israel effort to shift attention away from Israel’s crimes.
Following the Gaza massacre in 2009, an Israeli official announced a plan to “send well-known novelists and writers overseas, theater companies, exhibits…to show Israel’s prettier face”.
As Israel intensifies its attacks on the people of Gaza, let’s send a clear message that attempts to whitewash Israel’s violence against Palestinians won’t be tolerate
Demonstrations will be held outside Batsheva performances from 6:30pm on November 19, 20 and 21.
Batsheva is currently on a world tour and its performances have been protested in Edinburgh, Salford, Bradford, Brighton, Birmingham and Rome.
It is hoped that Batsheva, like a growing number of Israelis, will stand against Israel’s treatment of Palestinians and support justice and equality for all. Until then, we must continue to urge a popular boycott of and protests against its London performances.
