Israeli Airstrike on School Kills 40, Friends of Al-Aqsa Condemns this War Crime

The United Nations run al-Fakhura school in the Jabaliya refugee camp has been directly hit by an Israeli missile killing 40 women and children at the school. Many more have been horrifically injured by shrapnel which sprayed across people inside and outside the school building.

“We Condemn this attack on innocent children in the Gaza Strip. Israel continues to maliciously lie to the world about its operation in Gaza, denying that it has created a humanitarian catastrophe. No person of sound mind is fooled by these lies, and the suffering of the people of Gaza would be clearer to the world if Israel allowed international journalists in to the war ground. The deliberate targeting of this school and the killing of these children is nothing short of a War Crime,” said Ismail Patel, Chair of Friends of Al-Aqsa.

Friends of Al-Aqsa calls on the British government to immediately withdraw the British Ambassador from Israel and send a strong message of condemnation to the Israeli government for this latest atrocity.

Ismail Patel has further stated: “Israel’s initial silence in the wake of this attack is no doubt a result of its inability to defend it. We have no doubt that a far fetched explanation will be forthcoming, but we refuse to listen to Israel’s pitiful excuses any longer. It is time for us to put real pressure on our government to condemn Israel and take real steps to punish the terrorist state.”

Write to the Prime Minister and demand that he condemn Israel and recall the British Ambassador to Israel.
