Action Alert: Daily Express accuses ALL British Muslims of murder!
This kind of generalisation as we all know does nothing but incite hatred toward Muslims in the UK.
Why should we complain?
The headline ‘British Muslims are killing our troops’ is inaccurate, inflammatory and irresponsible journalism because firstly, it inaccurately blames ‘British Muslims’ in general for the alleged acts of a few individuals, tarnishing us all with the same brush.
The headline clearly excludes Muslims from being fully British by contrasting British Muslims with ‘our troops’ – the British army. Muslims are British citizens and as we have not excluded ourselves from British society there is no reason to exclude us.
The headline itself is also inaccurate as there is no actual evidence provided that any British Muslim has killed a British soldier. See this blog for details.
Inaccuracies and generalisations toward Muslims are not a rare occurrence in the media. Take action and complain now.
