Friends of Al-Aqsa invites submissions for our essay competition focusing on or around one of the following themes/titles. Participants may submit their own essay titles for approval.

1. Use of Israeli School Text Books in Re-writing Palestinian History
2. The Israeli/Palestinian Struggle Over Water Resources
3. The Impact of the Changing Boundaries of Jerusalem on Native Jerusalemites
4. The Gaza Disengagement: Effects and Consequences
5. The Need to Engage All popular Palestinian factions in the Conflict Resolution Process
6. The Impact of the International Community on the Israeli/Palestinian Conflict
7. Israels Separation Wall: Apartheid, Illicit or Legitimate Self-defence?
8. The Role of Boycott on Conflict Resolution in the Middle East.
9. The Struggle of Christians in Palestine (1900 2005)
10. The Social and Political Strategies Employed by Nour-al Deen and Salahedin in Liberating Jerusalem

Essays will be judged based on depth of research, analytical skills and originality; and should be referenced citing all sources used. The winning entries will be publishes in the bi-annual journal Al-Aqsa in Autumn 2006.
