Friends of Al Aqsa deplores Colin Powells decision to fund raise for Jewish National Fund

Since its inception, the goal of the Jewish National Fund has been to expropriate as much land as possible form Palestinians, and exercise racist policies in the subsequent use of that land.

The Jewish National Fund (JNF) has publicly decreed that no Arabs may live on, lease or buy back, any land in Palestine once the JNF has purchased it. The JNF, which uses occupied Palestinian land to build illegal settlements, is a major enforcer of Israeli apartheid policies inside the West Bank.

Former US Secretary of State Colin Powell will be attending a series of fundraising events across the UK to help raise funds for this organisation. Mr Powell, in his former position in American politics, was the face of the neo con American Foreign Policy concerning Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. His decision to support the JNF lends credence to the contention that his position was always anything but unbiased where the conflict is concerned.

Mr Powell will be speaking at the following venues:

Glasgow Hilton – Mon Jan 16 2006
London Park Lane Hotel – Sun Jan 15
Manchester Hilton – Tues Jan 17

Friends of Al Aqsa urges all supporters of freedom in Palestine to take part in protests outside these venues when Colin Powell will be attending fundraising dinners for the JNF.

Protest details to follow.

Friends of Al Aqsa is a voluntary organisation concerned with the defence of
Al Aqsa Haram Sharif and the protection of Palestinian Human Rights.
